The RYOKU Taste Guarantee
If your tea isn’t to your taste, let us know within 30 days — and you’ll get your money back. Even if the pack is already open.
Why we do this
Good Japanese green tea costs more than a box of supermarket teabags. That’s fair — but it also means you’re spending 29 or 39 francs on something you’ve never tasted. We know the feeling.
On top of that: green tea is very much a matter of taste. Some love the grassy clarity of matcha, others find it too intense. Some adore the roasted notes in hōjicha, for others it tastes too much like a coffee substitute. It took us a long time to work out which tea suits which moment.
Honestly: RYOKU isn’t for everyone. And that’s fine. You just shouldn’t have to find that out with a pack that then gathers dust, unopened, in your cupboard.
How it works
1. Write to us. An email to info@ryoku.ch with your order number and a sentence about what didn’t work. You don’t need to prove anything or justify yourself — “just not to my taste” is a perfectly valid reason.
2. We get back to you. Usually within one working day. We’ll ask briefly what you were looking for — not to talk you round, but so we know what to recommend to you next time.
3. You send the tea back. We’ll tell you where. As soon as it reaches us, we refund the purchase price.
For the sake of completeness, so you don’t only find out after emailing: return postage is on you (you can send the pack back as a letter, which costs between CHF 1.70 and 3.70), and we don’t refund the original shipping (though in many cases delivery was free anyway). Everything else is in our policies.

If a tea isn’t to your taste, feel free to tell us why (entirely optional, of course). Too bitter, too mild, wrong time of day, brewing unclear? For a small shop like ours, that kind of feedback is worth more than any market research — and it makes our recommendations better for the next person.
And your statutory rights?
Remain fully in place, of course. The Taste Guarantee is an additional promise from us, not a replacement. You’ll find your right of withdrawal and everything else in our policies.
